When we found our home at 1028 Ironwood Lane we knew that we had found the place where our family could grow. We have three bedrooms and a den that can be used a guest room or office and a loft above the Master bedroom. There are two full baths and one half bath. We loved that the main level is an open concept kitchen with dining and living room.

The community was in its early stages of development when we decided to build our home here. We were drawn to the amazing location, the quality of the craftsmanship, and the neighborhood. We love that we have a two-car garage and our end unit is close to both a small yard and a courtyard. Our end unit is also near visitor parking which is super convenient for any visitors. Speaking of visitors, our home is the perfect location to visit with friends and family as they travel through BWI airport. We have easy access to 100, 295, and 97. MARC, Light Rail, and Amtrak are close by as well. Even with all of this in the surrounding area, our home is quiet and our kids love that they can watch planes, trains, and automobiles from our deck.

What we love about our home is that we can sit on our deck with an amazing view and privacy wall and enjoy dinner as a family during the warmer months. There is a courtyard in front of our home where we can play soccer, throw a Frisbee, or fly a kite with our children. We love that our home has three dedicated bedrooms, and an additional room on the first floor that has been used as a home office, play room, and guest room as our needs have changed over the years. We love the open kitchen and dining room. We have created many holiday feasts in the double ovens and our kids love the large island for cookie baking and decorating supplies during the holidays. Our favorite part of the home is the master bedroom with loft and en-suite. The tall ceilings and dormer windows allow a lot of natural light to warm the area. The master bathroom has both a tile shower and Jacuzzi tub to help erase any stress after a long day.

UPDATES TO 1028 IRONWOOD LANE

Because the home was brand new when we moved in we haven’t had to make many additional upgrades (it’s hard to perfect perfection). We did finish the kitchen with a tile back splash that compliments both the tall cabinets and granite counter tops. We added custom built shelving in the dining room. We also added custom wood blinds to the entire house.

Our utilities are through BGE and we have found that they are very comparable if not lower than our neighbors. Our electric bill has been $175/month on average. We pay water to Anne Arundel County every few months at an average of $40/month.

COMMUNITY AND AMENITIES

In the Residences at Buckingham we love our community. We have enjoyed getting to know our neighbors and have experienced a sense of community in that we are always looking out for each other. Our children love that there is a path for them to ride their bikes around the neighborhood. They love the courtyard for playing games in the summer and building snowmen in the winter. We love that our neighbors plan an annual event where we can come together to break bread and get to know each other. Everyone waves hello to each other and looks out for each other.

Some of the things we love about living in Hanover is the location and proximity to dining, entertainment, and transportation options. We love that we can stand on our deck and see 4th of July fireworks from Arundel Mills, Ft. Meade, and other surrounding neighborhoods. Some of our favorite restaurants in the area are what we lovingly refer to as “International Row” which is located less than two miles from our house. Mama Cantina (Italian), Little Spice (Thai), and Phubs (Vietnamese Pho and Banh Mi). We are also less than three miles from the Arundel Mills retail and dining area. We love that we can take in dinner and movie as a family. One of our favorites is Bobby’s Burger located in the lobby of the Live! casino. We are also close to two Dunkin Donuts and three Starbucks to help with the morning commute. The grocery store we use most is Safeway, located near Arundel Mills. We also love that there is a Costco nearby (with a gas station). Another favorite shop of ours is Aldi’s (there are two locations within a reasonable distance).

We moved to Anne Arundel county to better our lives and create a strong foundation for our family. While living in this area we have completed higher level degrees at top notch schools. There are also several career opportunities in this area. We chose this location because of its proximity to major roads to help with our commute to work and the great daycare and schools for our children. We also love that there is a 24-hour Merritt gym located in our neighborhood and walking distance from our house. They usually offer special Buckingham residence rates on gym memberships. In Hanover there are great schools for our kids, amazing parks and playgrounds for families. Walking paths and bike trails for any level of rider are within miles of our home. Travel opportunities are limitless with BWI, MARC train, Light Rail, and Amtrak all being so close. We love the Arundel Mills area with the Cinemark theater and dining options that range from Chick-fil-A to Olive Garden to Grillfire. And the huge variety of retail stores nearby is also a plus.
