When we found our home at 2 N Belle Grove, we really liked the street. All of the houses were well maintained and it was just a really ‘cute’ area. Inside, well, you can stop at the hard wood floors, which I believe to be original to the house. They have been excellently maintained.

There is on-street parking, with the possibility of a parking pad in the back yard.What we love about our home is all of the natural light that comes in throughout the day. Each room gets sunlight at some point during the day. Having the end unit, with a wall full of windows is great!              

The kitchen was the first project we tackled. I added a dishwasher and microwave, as well as new IKEA cabinets. There is tons of storage everywhere, including a pull out pantry, a deep drawer for pots and pans, etc.  I’m very frugal so my utility costs are much lower than average. I just pile on blankets in the winter. The house does use oil for heat and we have found several companies that provide great service.   

GREAT NEIGHBORHOOD

The community of Paradise has amazing people and spirit and there are great restaurants and shops within walking distance from our house including a brand new Dunkin Donuts.

Our street is very friendly and we have gatherings where everyone brings food. After a snowstorm, everyone’s out cleaning out their cars, helping fellow neighbors, and even shoveling the street. You know the ‘save the space’ practice? Well it works in Paradise!

WE LOVE CATONSVILLE

The fourth of July parade in Catonsville has to be one of the great events anywhere in Maryland! Between that and the fireworks, you can’t celebrate our nations’ birthday much better.

We were very interested in the Catonsville area as it is close to so much. Just a few minutes to downtown Baltimore, BWI airport, AMTRAC, etc. With the MARC train, Washington DC is just a few minutes away.

Peace of Pizza has fantastic pizzas and salads!!  

The Grocery store I use most is Giant. There are 3 that are convenient to me: Wilkens, Edmonson Village, and Rolling Road.  I moved to Baltimore County for family, but got so much more. Again, the location is close and getting almost anyplace is a breeze!               

We are districted for the newly upgraded Westowne Elementary, Arbutus Middle and Catonsville HS.   I love the library and the numerous ethnic restaurants available just minutes away on Frederick Road.

When we first found our home at 8672 New Bedford Harbour, we loved the location!  It’s close to everything! The neighborhood is pretty, people are friendly and having water access is wonderful!

What we love about our home is the abundance of natural light, the quiet double deck in the backyard and the gorgeous trees all around.             

UPDATES TO OUR HOME

We have made some changes and upgrades like taking out the wall in the bathroom to make it one room, installed a whirlpool tub and added crown molding and new paint.

In the kitchen, we knocked down a half wall and put in an island with recessed lights. We also added lights under the cabinets, replaced the counter top, built in a microwave, and just painted.

We have just replaced the carpet throughout and replaced all the linoleum with laminate hardwood.

We have installed built ins in the living room, changed the coat closet, and painted most of the walls.

We built a lower deck in the backyard. Nothing to mow and it’s like having an extra outdoor room.

WE LOVE THE NEIGHBORHOOD

My single favorite thing about the neighborhood is the beach!! We like to go kayaking, crabbing, fishing and of course swimming! They have grills and picnic tables, plus 2 docks.

I walk the dog and go down there just to see the water at sunset!!

Pasadena is a great small town that’s close to all the action. DC, Baltimore, and Annapolis are about half hour drive.

We wanted to move to Pasadena because of the laid back vibe. It’s a small town that doesn’t feel too small. People are friendly and we are close enough to the big cities.             

Sunset Elementary and Northeast High School, the Library, and a dance studio, are all within walking distance from our house.  I used to walk my kids to and from school with our dog.

Sunset ES is a fantastic school and I’m still friends with some of the great teachers!!                      

RESTAURANTS AND SHOPPING NEAR US

There are 3 malls just minutes away and restaurants everywhere. There are also fitness centers and a new Y with a pool!

There are some really good restaurants close to us. My top three choices are Primos Italian, Gourmet Pizza, and Daily Scoop for ice cream. They are family owned and involved in the community. We also have Ledo’s, Texas Roadhouse and 5 Guys Burgers.            

We shop at Lauers for groceries. They have great prices and they also serve the community. There are 2 locations close by. There’s also a Giant and a Safeway.

When my daughter and I found our home at 3566 Lowlen Court, what appealed to us most was the layout of the house.  The split foyer design with a large bedroom on the lower level and 3 bedrooms upstairs was great!  And we love its location to shopping, restaurants, Historic Ellicott City and Catonsville.

We were also impressed with all the STORAGE space in our home!  Several closets have extended storage and we have pull down stairs to the attic.

Another thing we love about our home is that our homeowners ensures that the outside is well cared for by landscapers during the summer and the snow is removed during the winter.  We also love the neighborhood pool and designated parking spot right in front of our house. 

UPDATES

We have updated all the bathrooms since we lived here and put in new flooring in almost every room.  We have painted the whole house twice in the 19 years we have lived there.

The heat pump was replaced in 2013 and the water heater was replaced in 2011.  There is a new storm door at the front of the house.

Our utility costs are between $85 and $150 dollars during the summer months.   During the winter months of Jan and Feb they could be as much as $200.  The new heat pump is very efficient. BGE provides us with our electric.

GREAT LOCATION           

The new gorgeous Miller Branch Library and Ellicott City 50+ Center are both within walking distance.

Also within walking distance is Mission Barbeque, Chef Paolino’s Cafe, and Sea King for Seafood.  Our condo fee includes membership to Plumtree Apartments swimming pool during the summer.
