This spacious, solid brick, 3 bedroom, 2 full bath end unit townhome in Catonsville sparkles from top to bottom. The perfect combination of modern and efficiency with 1800 sq feet of living space, hardwood floors, beautiful gourmet kitchen (ss appliances, granite), fully finished lower level, energy efficient windows, CENTRAL AC, large workshop/storage, HUGE fully fenced yard with parking. Walkable and affordable too.
Here is what the homeowners have to say about living at 5627 Edmondson Avenue:
When we found our home in Catonsville we were blown away by the natural light! We had walked through a number of town houses that felt dark and enclosed, but the first time we walked through our home we fell in love with the large windows on three sides (since it’s an end unit), and the windows in the finished walk-out basement.
What we love about our home is year-round we have places to hang out and entertain — gardening and playing catch in the backyard during the warm months and spending time in the basement in the winter months. Speaking of entertaining and hosting company, when friends and family come to visit, we love the ability to convert the basement into a guest room with their own private full bathroom.
UPGRADES TO OUR HOME
Blown-in insulation in the attic
Landscape improvements in the front and back yards including planting beds in the front and back yards, removing a large tree stump and filling in an existing fire pit.
Major energy-efficient renovations completed three years ago when we bought the house including:
New replacement windows and front door
New central air unit and water heater
New Energy Star appliances
New plumbing fixtures and dual-flush toilets
The biggest upgrade was the cedar full-height fence in the back yard with a full gate to allow the back parking pad to continue to be used. The fence has really turned the backyard into an oasis!
ULITILITIES
Relative to our other experiences, our utility costs here are quite reasonable in the $150-160 average range for gas and electric through BGE, and water is $15 quarterly. The blown-in insulation brought these numbers down!
LOVE OUR NEIGHBORHOOD
In Westowne, our neighborhood is super friendly and Westowne Elementary is getting brand new building built that will be open for business in the fall of 2016!
Kids are always running around in the alley behind the house playing sports and riding scooters. Families walk down to an open park in the center of the neighborhood where families enjoy BBQs and an Easter Egg hunt. There are lots of home owners in Westowne who care about the neighborhood. One example is the recent community-driven project to add a traffic circle at the center of the neighborhood to keep slower speeds.
We moved to Baltimore County because of the great schools, easy access to downtown, and the main street small town feel of Catonsville. In Catonsville, you are certain to find great schools. Some of the things we love about living in Catonsville are the vitality of shopping and dining on the main street, traditions like the 4th of July parade, and outdoor events like the concerts at Luhrman Theater. Catonsville feels like a small town but has access to an amazing city.
Some of our favorite restaurants in the area are Ships Café, Peace-a-Pizza, and Catonsville Gourmet. A neighborhood live jazz lounge serving coffee and dessert just opened one block away called Tabba Tabba, and Chiofalos is a neighborhood staple for pizza on the same block.
The Grocery store we use is the Giant on Wilkens. They have great customer service and friendly clientele. During the warmer months we can walk to the farmers’ market for produce and eggs. H Mart and Lotte Plaza have excellent produce in the cooler months and great prices.
