What we Love About 8417 Freedom Court!
When we found our home at 8417 Freedom Court in Columbia, we were attracted by the tree-lined street and the charming view of the outside of our house. Inside we loved the large eat-in kitchen with island, open floor plan and the view of the landscaped back yard. We knew the finished lower level had the versatility to become a large home office, a space for entertaining or a media room.
What we love about our home is the spacious size and the way it fits our life style. We have a wonderful dining room; with bay window overlooking the private backyard The master bedroom suite is large and beautiful. We have enjoyed gardening and adding flowering bushes and perennial flowers.
Updates To Our Home
We have made many improvements: new roof, new insulated siding, walk-in shower in the master bedroom, new kitchen flooring, new carpeting throughout, and a carefree Trex deck.
Our electric company, BGE, bill has averaged about $255 a month for 2013 and 2014. Howard County provides the utilities of water and sewer, with an average of cost of $30 a month.
Great Neighborhood
Our neighborhood has been a wonderful haven within the community. There is evident pride of ownership. Columbia can feel like a small town, with all the advantages of larger city. Some of our favorite restaurants in the area are Aida Bistro and Wine Bar and for something quick, we are fond of Panera and Baja Fresh. With the many choices here in Columbia just minutes away, we regularly shop at Trader Joes, Wegmans, and an organic market in nearby Laurel. During the summer, we make regular weekend stops at Franks Produce stand, a fine source of farm fresh vegetables, fruit and flowers.
Living In Columbia
We moved to Columbia because it is a dynamic community, with access to Washington and Baltimore and their great museums and parks. We knew that Columbia has been repeatedly listed as one of the Best Places to Live in America. Freedom Court is a cul-de-sac with stable long term residents. Children can play safely on our street, and the school bus stops at the end of our block. We are a short distance from the Town Center with its lake and summer entertainment and a large library, as well as the Columbia Mall which has stores such as Nordstroms, Lord and Taylor and Macys. Minutes away are favorites such as Target, Costco, and Lowes Home Improvement.
