WE LOVE CATONSVILLE

Our neighborhood is great, because of the wonderful sense of community. When the weather is nice, all the neighbors gather in the cul-de-sac to chat while the kids play together. There is also an active neighborhood association. We love Catonsville’s wonderful community events such as the Fourth of July Parade, Farmer’s markets, and Arts and Crafts Festival. I love that you can walk to all of them from our house. Some of our favorite restaurants in the area are Chef Paulino’s and Farmhouse Greens. You can walk to both of them from our house! The grocery stores we use are H-Mart, Aldi, and Giant. All of them are very convenient from our house. We moved to Catonsville because we wanted a safe, close-knit community in which to raise our family. We wanted to be close to both Baltimore and Washington, DC. Catonsville was the perfect fit for us! In Catonsville, you will find some of the best public schools in the county. When we bought our house, we wanted our children to be able to attend wonderful public schools. We have been thrilled with Hillcrest Elementary. From award-winning teachers to after school clubs, we have been so happy there. Catonsville has tons of other amenities. We love the library, which has lots of fun events for kids, families, teens, and adults. The Catonsville Parks and Rec offers programs for almost any sport you could want. Downtown Catonsville has many fun and unique shops. Our family has been so happy here!

CALL THE OFFICIAL LISTING AGENT ELLIE McINTIRE 443.418.7668 EPIK HOME GROUP OF KELLER WILLIAMS REALTY CENTRE 410.312.0000.

When we found our home at 1051 Ironwood Lane we knew instantly that it was the perfect place for our family. We had searched and scoured the area looking at dozens of homes in multiple communities and neighborhoods. The elegant entrance to the Buckingham community welcomed us into this classy and upscale brick neighborhood. It was and is so quiet, clean and well kept. There were homes available for quick move but this lot was worth waiting for. The lot is amazing and it’s what makes our home so special. Anyone can choose nice finishes inside a house but you don’t often have the chance to pick a prime location with so many perks and benefits. Not only is the location of the community ideal but the location of our home within the community is, too. Buckingham is five minutes or less from every major highway connecting this busy area. Each major city is a puddle jump away from our home. We are one exit from the endless dining and entertainment of Arundel Mills. However, what makes this place perfect is that we are on our own little island, an oasis in the midst of the hustle and bustle but just far enough in the right direction to give us peace and serenity at home. Getting here from anywhere even during peak traffic is never an issue. Our home itself is an end unit surrounded by the luxury of extra space. We have a gorgeous tree line on the front side and an open guest lot on the back side. The close proximity to the guest lot provides constant access to extra parking and a wide-open view from our patio. Because of the open lot our patio doesn’t stare at someone else’s it makes it so much more refreshing and relaxing to be outdoors enjoying the deck. The location of our deck makes it feel like an extension of the living room. It’s the perfect amount of privacy and since townhomes are connected they don’t typically offer the type of open air feel that this supreme location has offered us. This place is incredibly quiet and that is something no other neighborhood we toured even came close to. The end unit with all of this extra breathing room also lets in so much natural light. I love that I don’t need lights during the day just have to open the blinds. Military life is the reason this is not our forever home otherwise we would stay here because we love it. I hope someone finds this gem of a place and loves it the way we have! What I love about our home most, besides how beautiful it is, would be the location. I love to sit at the dining room table facing the open windows that look out at the trees. I see birds bunnies and occasionally a doe off in the distance. The nature is peaceful and beautiful. I love the trail that loops around the perimeter of the property. We have run and jogged with our babies and taken regular family walks. We love that we are so happy here. I frequently enjoy breakfast in my pj’s on warm summer mornings out on the deck. The privacy wall blocks me from view of my adjacent neighbors while I enjoy quiet time out on the patio. Another perk we didn’t know of when we chose this lot, all of the neighbors who we have come to know are wonderful people. Adjacent to us and each side that we are near are respectful friendly working people and caring families. Quiet neighbors who are considerate and also helpful, like a community should be. Buckingham is one in a million a true blessing. We will miss our neighbors and our community dearly. The house itself is luxurious and beautiful. The master bath is my get away some days when I just need to pamper and take a bubble soak in the humongous garden style tub. What’s not to love about this home?

UPGRADES TO 1051 IRONWOOD LANE

We have added vertical storage on the pantry door, backsplash, crown molding, accent tile to the fireplace. Listello tile to decorate the tile in the upstairs bathrooms. Built-ins in the living room. I love having the full bath on the first floor. We painted the garage. Added a privacy wall on the deck. Our appliances are top of the line. Granite countertops, maple wood upgraded cabinets and dark hardwood floors… Upgraded tile and stone countertops in the bathrooms. Our utility costs are better than we had at previous residences. All of our appliances are high efficiency and we have a lot of natural light to eliminate the need for running lights during the day. We use BG&E.

COMMUNITY & AMENITIES

In the Buckingham neighborhood we have an annual summer block party. Each year has been fun and entertaining way to meet neighbors and socialize with the community. I like that there isn’t a pool or play area because I truly value peace and quiet. I can go to a pool or playground anytime but at home what I really want is peace and serenity from the business of life and work. The simplicity and quiet corner of my neighborhood is what gives it so much charm. Less is more when you are looking for a peaceful quiet home that feels like a retreat. The Merritt fitness center is just a short walk away it is part of the property our community is located on. The gym is open 24 hrs. and offers classes and equipment at a walkable distance from my home. Many of my neighbors are commuters who I don’t see even often but the ones living closest to me or who I pass on my walks are friendly and kind. I have never had an issue with a neighbor and have built friendships with many people here.

I love Hanover because it’s more than a suburb but less intense than a big city. For people who like to be part of the action there is no shortage of entertainment at live casino and 15 min away in downtown Baltimore or inner harbor. We are also a short drive or short train ride from DC. The proximity to the airport is a huge bonus I never have to worry about airport parking because I leave my car at home. It costs $6 to Uber there for a flight. I never hear airplane noise overhead but occasionally see them in the distance. The runways do not pass over or near my neighborhood at all. There is no airport noise but we are just over 5 minutes and less than 10 minutes away. I can get to the base in a few short minutes. Hanover is the perfect hub for getting to and from Annapolis Columbia Baltimore DC Pasadena Odenton Glen Burnie Severn Ellicott City Elkridge without congestion or traffic problems.

We love to eat at Vivo and Grillfire. We love Bagels and grinds and Zinburger. We love Arturo’s Trattoria and Timbuktu. Also, the Cheesecake Factory and DuClaw. We watch sporting events at buffalo wild wings and the Greene turtle. There are plenty of fast food and convenience options like Panera chipotle chick fil a Starbucks and literally anything you can think of. Carlson’s Donuts is a special weekend treat for our family, they are delicious! If you can crave it you can find it within minutes of Buckingham.

I shop my bigger trips at the commissary and the super Walmart on Quarterfield. The best part of the Walmart closest to here is the pickup option. When you’re busy just order your groceries and have them brought to your car promptly and loaded for you. No hassle. I like shopping at Sam’s and Costco for baby needs. Safeway is perfect for fresh flowers, quality seafood and for the convenience of it being so close. Giant is also just down the road if you take Dorsey and they have a great natural section for health-conscious buyers. Target is less than 10 min. Literally anything and everything is in close proximity here.

We moved to Anne Arundel county because it has a good reputation and we have not been disappointed. The libraries and children’s events have been wonderful. We feel safe and comfortable here. It’s bright and new and up and coming but yet it’s also an established and complete neighborhood. The growth is inspiring the small neighborhood size is comfortable. There are endless options you could never get bored here. Whatever you want to do you will find here. Test the theory, google something and you will see its near here. Any type of food, entertainment, rock climbing, movies, petting zoos night life, the aquarium, museums, libraries, salsa dancing, happy hour, music lessons, craft stores, Arundel mills, bass pro shops, any store you want, multiple malls and shopping centers, hotels, spa and massage services, nail and hair salons, it’s all near here. We have found wonderful schools for our children here and healthcare and dental providers. If you wanted to you could be totally sufficient without ever leaving a 2-mile radius. That’s the beautiful thing you are close to everything with the convenient option to stay as close or venture as far out as you want from this wonderful location.

In Paradise our neighborhood is great for holiday parties, neighborhood cookouts, and quiet evening sitting on the front porch. Some of the things we love about Catonsville are the schools, 4th of July fireworks at the high school and the farmers market. Some of our favorite restaurants in the area are Atwarter’s, Ships Cafe, Catonsville Gourmet and Peace of Pizza The grocery store we use is Aldi on RT. 40. However, Giant is the most convenient on Maiden Choice Lane. We have always lived in Baltimore County but we moved to Catonsville for the schools. WHAT THE SELLERS LOVE

When we found our home at 239 Ridgeway Road in the heart of Catonsville, we loved the location and the size of the home. I wanted a home with a swimming pool, and lots of space and this home gave me both. What we appreciate about our home is how spacious it is. We enjoy coffee on the deck and patio out by the pool as well as by the living room fireplace. I also love the house because it’s built “soundly”. Our family is a large one and you don’t disturb others sleeping with the TV in the living room or working in the kitchen. You don’t have to be quiet in this house.

UPDATES TO 239 RIDGEWAY ROAD

We literally had to uncover the beauty in this residence, step by step. A labor of love and a million hours have been invested into the fabulous home you now see. We had a total kitchen remodel which included removing the wall between the dining room and old kitchen all the way down to the studs. We installed brand-new cabinets, countertops & appliances, added a walk-in pantry, and much more for absolute functionality and a luxury experience. The proof is in the details and we consciously decided on every single upgrade that would make our perfect home shine. Nothing brings us more joy than sharing a glass of wine with friends in this space.

We removed all the carpet to expose the lovely hardwood floors throughout the house. We painted each room and all common areas. The trim was lovingly restored. We’ve updated the bathrooms including the Master bath which was totally remodeled. We’ve replaced the compressor on the air conditioner, new filter & pump on the swimming pool, new shed, new fireplace doors, solar lights outside the house, most lighting in home has been updated to LED.

For the size house with a swimming pool and AC, the average costs are quite reasonable at around $200 – $300 with BGE.

COMMUNITY AND AMENITIES

Our house is located on a dead-end street in a family friendly neighborhood with awesome schools. We have great neighbors that watch out for each other. Some of the things we love about living in Catonsville is our access to parks, community swimming pools, and shopping in downtown Catonsville. The 4th of July parade is huge and only minutes away.

Some of our favorite restaurants in the area are Franco’s, Jennings Cafe, Black Kettle, Dimintri’s, Loafers, Catonsville Gourmet, Applebee’s and G.L. Shacks.

The grocery store we use is Giant located just two minutes from the house. Many more grocery stores are just minutes away.

We moved to Baltimore County because of the proximity to Baltimore City, Washington DC, and all airports. One of our favorite things is the proximity to all the sporting events that are less than an hour away like Ravens, Redskins, Orioles, Capitals and the Wizards. We are a quick drive to all the Nation’s most revered and treasured museums.

Catonsville itself has so many things to offer that are close to our home. The library, the Elementary and Middle school, the Trolley Trail and downtown Catonsville are all 5 minutes from the house. We are minutes from the freeway and Old Elliott City. Columbia Towne Center is a short drive away.

ATTENTION ACTIVE DUTY MILITARY AND VETS. This home has a VERY attractive ASSUMABLE VA loan that will save you $350 PER MONTH in your Mortgage payment if you qualify. 12 MINUTES FROM FORT MEADE- IT DOESN’T GET ANY BETTER THAN THAT!

It was “love at first sight” when we drove to 8900 Lincoln Street for the first time. We had seen homes in the Columbia area and they all felt small, old and had mostly unattractive lots. We couldn’t believe we could have a massive 2 car garage AND extra parking on the side. We had a dream to own an RV, which we could easily accommodate, but we added a functional shed instead. The back yard has been amazing, especially since we added the new fence. This beauty had space inside and out and an ideal location in a sleepy community. Everything we wanted.

WHAT THE SELLERS LOVE

The house is on a semi-private driveway, away from the road. It’s the perfect size for a growing family, with 4 great bedrooms (technically 5 bedrooms with the extra room in the basement), a finished basement and a huge back yard with a large deck attached to the house. What we love most about our home is the openness, and yet the cozy feeling. There is plenty of room for the kids to run around and play, and yet, we can all curl up together close in the living room to watch a movie. The kitchen is part of the living area and is not isolated from the rest of the house. We love to entertain and with this floorplan, no one is cutoff. We have enjoyed many wonderful evenings with lots of laughter. We really put a lot of thought and consideration into its design when we completely remodeled it a few years ago, but it truly is the “Heart of our Home”.

COMMUNITY AND AMENITIES

One of the things we love about living in Savage is the “small town” feeling. Savage is a hidden gem in Howard County. It’s quiet and almost a community unto itself, but it is so close to shopping, restaurants, and anything else that you might need. There are several community events throughout the year, like “trunk or treating” at the First Baptist Church for Halloween, the annual “Bollman Bridge lighting” and Savage tree lighting for Christmas, and the annual Savage Fest in the summer. Some of our favorite restaurants in the area are Ma’s Kettle (open only for lunch on weekdays) and the Ram’s Head Tavern, in the Savage Mill. Both are within walking distance. We are also close to many restaurants in Laurel and Columbia. The grocery store that we shop at most frequently is Weis Supermarket, which is only about a mile away. We are also close to Wegman’s, Aldi’s, Harris Teeter, Giant, and Costco. We moved to Howard County because of location and proximity to where we work at Fort Meade -We get to avoid most of the traffic. We truly hope the next owners enjoy this lovely home as much as we have- both of our children were born while we lived here and the ONLY reason we are relocating is because we want to be closer to our family in the mid-west.

WE LOVE CATONSVILLE

As we continued to live here we grew to love the small-town feel, location, and amenities. In Catonsville, there are plenty of restaurants within walking distance, great schools, and friendly people.
