We enjoy coffee on the deck and patio out by the pool as well as by the living room fireplace. I also love the house because it’s built “soundly”. Our family is a large one and you don’t disturb others sleeping with the TV in the living room or working in the kitchen. You don’t have to be quiet in this house.

We literally had to uncover the beauty in this residence, step by step. A labor of love and a million hours have been invested into the fabulous home you now see. Our house is located on a dead-end street in a family friendly neighborhood with awesome schools. We have great neighbors that watch out for each other. Some of the things we love about living in Catonsville is our access to parks, community swimming pools, and shopping in downtown Catonsville. The 4th of July parade is huge and only minutes away.

Some of our favorite restaurants in the area are Franco’s, Jennings Cafe, Black Kettle, Dimintri’s, Loafers, Catonsville Gourmet, Applebee’s and G.L. Shacks.

The grocery store we use is Giant located just two minutes from the house. Many more grocery stores are just minutes away.

We moved to Baltimore County because of the proximity to Baltimore City, Washington DC, and all airports. One of our favorite things is the proximity to all the sporting events that are less than an hour away like Ravens, Redskins, Orioles, Capitals and the Wizards. We are a quick drive to all the Nation’s most revered and treasured museums.

Catonsville itself has so many things to offer that are close to our home. The library, the Elementary and Middle school, the Trolley Trail and downtown Catonsville are all 5 minutes from the house. We are minutes from the freeway and Old Elliott City. Columbia Towne Center is a short drive away.

It was “love at first sight” when we drove to 8900 Lincoln Street for the first time. We had seen homes in the Columbia area and they all felt small, old and had mostly unattractive lots. We couldn’t believe we could have a massive 2 car garage AND extra parking on the side. We had a dream to own an RV, which we could easily accommodate, but we added a functional shed instead. The back yard has been amazing, especially since we added the new fence. This beauty had space inside and out and an ideal location in a sleepy community. Everything we wanted.

 

The house is on a semi-private driveway, away from the road. It’s the perfect size for a growing family, with 4 great bedrooms, (technically 5 bedrooms with the room in the basement) a finished basement and a huge back yard with a large deck attached to the house.    What we love most about our home is the openness, and yet the cozy feeling. There is plenty of room for the kids to run around and play, and yet, we can all curl up together close in the living room to watch a movie. The kitchen is part of the living area and is not isolated from the rest of the house. We love to entertain and with this floorplan, no one is cutoff. We have enjoyed many wonderful evenings with lots of laughter. We really put a lot of thought and consideration into it’s design when we completely remodeled it a few years ago, but it truly is the “Heart of our Home”.

 

 

 

One of the things we love about living in Savage is the “small town” feeling. Savage is a hidden gem in Howard County. It’s quiet and almost a community unto itself, but it is so close to shopping, restaurants, and anything else that you might need. There are several community events throughout the year, like “trunk or treating” at the First Baptist Church for Halloween, the annual “Bollman Bridge lighting” and Savage tree lighting for Christmas, and the annual Savage Fest in the summer. Some of our favorite restaurants in the area are Ma’s Kettle (open only for lunch on weekdays) and the Ram’s Head Tavern, in the Savage Mill. Both are within walking distance. We are also close to many restaurants in Laurel and Columbia. The grocery store that we shop at most frequently is Weis Supermarket, which is only about a mile away. We are also close to Wegman’s, Aldi’s, Harris Teeter, Giant, and Costco. We moved to Howard County because of location and proximity to where we work at Fort Meade -We get to avoid most of the traffic.

 

We truly hope the next owners enjoy this lovely home as much as we have- both of our children were born while we lived here and the ONLY reason we are relocating is because we want to be closer to our family in the mid-west.

In Baltimore county you’ll find a ton of amazing seafood restaurants like Conrad’s and great shopping at Eastpoint Mall which is walking distance from our home.
