CALL THE OFFICIAL LISTING AGENT ELLIE McINTIRE 443.418.7668 EPIK HOME GROUP OF KELLER WILLIAMS REALTY CENTRE 410.312.0000.

Fantastic layout in this spacious 4 bedroom, 2 ½ bath Colonial in sought after Howard County! Convenient living on a quiet cul-de-sac and meticulously maintained by original owners. Featuring a new roof in 2016, updated HVAC and 2 car garage. Enjoy meals in the formal dining room or large eat in kitchen with SS appliances, tons of storage and sliders to deck. Relaxing evenings await you in the family room updated with Pergo and a cozy woodburning fireplace. The HUGE master bedroom boasts an en suite bath and walk in closet. Enormous unfinished basement has amazing potential and walk out to yard backing to open space. No CPRA taxes here so you get the convenience of a Columbia location but no extra taxes. MUST SEE!

What the original owners say about their home: When my husband and I first found our home on Davis Road, we had been looking for quite a long time. We combed through batch after batch of listings from our agent. We were attracted to the new construction in the neighborhood that a friend (who used to live here, too!) had talked to us about. We love the convenient location where we are literally in the middle of shopping, schools, and major metropolitan areas. We were looking for a home with gas heat instead of a heat pump and, at the time, we had a growing family, so we found the house to be a great size, and it was great to be on a cul-de-sac where the children could play. Our home has so many things to love! It makes it hard to pare down our list. Some of the highlights do seem to follow the calendar. For instance, in the Spring and Summer, we love to listen to the “peepers” in the open space out back. Our backyard is large enough and flat enough for pitching tents for Girl Scouts or putting another swing set. The layout of the main floor is conducive to having our family gatherings, especially at Christmas time. We use the island in the kitchen to have fondue during family and friend gatherings. And lastly, we love our fireplace on those cold, dreary winter evenings.

UPDATES TO DAVIS ROAD: It has been 24 years, so be prepared for a bit of a list! We have… A new roof in 2016! New AC and furnace in 2014. Added deck with stairs built onto back of house. Replaced the fireplace. Replaced both sliding doors. We put ceiling fans in the 4 bedrooms and in the kitchen area and family room. And, we have freshly painted throughout the home and put up new light switch and outlet covers. Now on to each room. Kitchen- Upgraded to all stainless steel appliances. Installed new counter tops. Installed new lighting fixtures. Put in an undermount sink, and new faucet, new flooring, new cabinet knobs and refinished fronts. Added adjustable shelving in pantry closet, under the cabinet lighting, and a USB outlet. Family Room – New Pergo flooring. Hallway and foyer – New Pergo-type flooring, new ceiling light , programmable outdoor light switch, and the closet has updated shelving. Powder Room- We redid this room completely…new tile flooring, new, more stylish vanity faucet and mirror, new toilet, and new light fixture. Dining Room – New chandelier, chair railing, and a programmable thermostat for the furnace/ac. Master bedroom-updated closet with new shelving, laminated flooring, and a new light fixture. Master bathroom-new flooring, mirrors (we got rid of the old wall to wall mirror and replaced with two smaller ones), new faucets, knobs, refinished the cabinets, new medicine cabinet and lights, and upgraded the shower head and put in a curved shower rod. Upper hallway- new light fixture. Hall bathroom- new light fixtures, flooring, toilet seat, towel bar, refinished the vanity and put on new knobs and faucet, and replaced the shower head and put in a curved shower rod. Updated shelving in 2 of the bedrooms.

We are in an out parcel of Columbia, so we have no CPRA taxes. In Longridge Knolls, we have community areas where one can sled in winter and play ball in summer or walk your dog all year long. Both streets are dead ends, so walking is pretty safe and the streets are relatively quiet. Our neighbors are friendly and the community is stable. We are currently starting to experience the turn over that happens in neighborhoods that are this age, getting more young families, but a lot of us have been around a long time. Some of our favorite restaurants in the area are: T-bonz, Mimi’s Café, La Madeleine, Bare Bones, Bean Hollow Coffee shop in Historic Ellicott City (particularly popular with our 20 somethings!) Hunan Manor and Hunan Lion, Waterloo Subs and Pizza and, although this place in in Linthicum, we love G & M Restaurant for their crab cakes The grocery stores we frequent are in order as follows: Wegmans, Giant, Weis, Costco. We moved to Howard County for work which is plentiful in this area. But it didn’t hurt that the house is located where there are good schools and many opportunities for young families. We have easy access to the major routes- 29, 95, 97, 295, 100 and 175. We are near BWI airport and it is easy to get there. Finally, we are located between Baltimore and Washington, DC and are near Fort Meade. In Howard County, we have one of the top rated school systems in the country. Also, the library system is top rated and is constantly being upgraded. Oh, and if you are looking for the best shopping, here it is. We are surrounded by all sorts of shopping opportunities, from malls like Columbia Mall or Arundel Mills Mall to thrift stores like Second Avenue.

Beautiful landscaping that is not overwhelming compliments this incredible retreat. Perfect for any kind of gathering whether large or small. With a new roof, 2 car garage and over 3,000 sq feet of living space this home offer fantastic flexibility inside and out! Convenient and smart updates include dual-zoned HVAC (Nest), double-pane Pella windows, copper gutters w/guards, abundance of storage & more! WHAT THE SELLERS LOVE ABOUT THEIR HOME When we first set eyes on 3131 The Oaks Road, we knew we had found the perfect home. We were thrilled at the custom, high-end feel of the home. It was easy to see that it was built to not only entertain, but raise a family. We adored the stone, mature landscaping and gorgeous acre that felt like vacation oasis. We had looked in this neighborhood before and had always hoped another house would come available. It took a few years, but we were thrilled when The Oaks popped up. It’s so convenient to the highway for our commute, ease to get to our favorite spots while nestled into a private and quiet neighborhood that is situated next to the Patapsco State Park and we can enjoy the wildlife and quiet tree filled neighborhood. Each room has a light-filled sunny space and an amazing view of the beautiful yard. We love that we had multiple options for a master suite, large guest room for our parents, an office and plenty of bedrooms for our children. And, what a delight to have the kids and their play / guest room all on one level. AMAZING. It’s perfect to have all of our guests in for the holidays and not feeling like we’re squeezed into a sardine can. It’s enjoyable to have an open, but defined room spaces. Plenty of space in the kitchen to cook with my husband while having a table full of kids. Or enjoying the dining room being with friends while all of the children sit in the kitchen – What a joy! What we love about our home is feeling that we freely flow from indoor to outdoor living. We adore the feeling that the large windows and the glass slider in the kitchen make this come to life. We spend mornings having breakfast at the kitchen table and coffee and the news outside in the living room. Spend the middle of the day working or playing in the yard, enjoying the gorgeous pool and having an easy lunch at the table. Evenings are spent by the firepit, playing in the yard or watching movies under the stars while the frogs chirp in the background. We love the comfy den, the ability to host and entertain and the kids bonus room upstairs. We can be separated and still generally being able to hear or see what’s going on. UPDATES TO 3131 THE OAKS DRIVE New roof in 2015: We replaced the roof with new architectural shingles in a shade to compliment the stone. As well, we replaced both sky lights. We also had sections of the copper gutters/downspouts replaced and other sections repaired. We painted the entire house from ceilings to the trim to continue that inside out, light and airy feeling. New Washer/Dryer in 2015: We also had the dryer plug replaced and purchased the new Samsung washer/dryer set. In 2016, we added matching solar blinds across the front of the house to provide solace from the summer sun while providing privacy in the evenings with the large windows. The bedrooms received black out blinds and the office and bathrooms received updates as well. Pool updates 2016: We replaced the pool pump and rewired the pool from the house to the equipment with fully updated underground wiring. We power washed all of the blue stone and the pool deck as well as areas of the house. We had cracks in the pool deck and patio repaired / replaced. New Thermostats: We replaced the thermostats with brand new Nest thermostats. In 2017, we added carpet and paint to the bonus room as well as repairing the pool light. We replaced the garage door spring. UTILITY COSTS Depends on the time of year, but we have had as low as $240 and as high as $600 (open doors, parties, lots of company, etc). We average around $420/month. GREAT NEIGHBORHOOD AND AMENITIES The Oaks is a great neighborhood. It’s quiet and neighborly without feeling crowed. The HOA maintains the look/feel of this gorgeous community while there are book clubs, folks that walk with kids or dogs and the occasional party to attend! We enjoy that there are other kids for ours to play with, yet we can be outside without feeling like someone is on top of us. Ellicott City is FANTASTIC! We moved here from Catonsville and very much enjoy that we’re a mile from Old Ellicott City and often spend date night wandering the shops and catching a drink and apps at Pure Wine Cafe and dinner and any number of restaurants as there are lots of choices – bars, French, Mexican and Italian, just to name a few. Commuting and traveling is a breeze! It’s a quick pick up to 29, 70, 100 or 695 and we love being just 20 minutes from the Inner Harbor, 30 minutes to Annapolis and 45 minutes to DC. We can quickly go to the park, the city or out to Western Maryland without a blink. There is tons of shopping, restaurants and parks within a stone’s throw. We also benefit from being around the corner from Catonsville and still go back to enjoy all of the annual festivities. Some of our favorite restaurants are Pure Wine Cafe, Tersiguel’s, La Palapa, Ernesto’s, Portalli’s, and Bella Notte. Not to mention any number of pizza places, Mission BBQ and so many more. We bounce back and forth from Giant and Safeway just off Rt. 40. Both are there, next to other stores we frequent and are clean and new. We Love Ellicott City!! We were attracted to Ellicott City for the family life and the schools. The neighborhoods and the people are fantastic and it’s the perfect balance of Old Ellicott City charm and a small town urban setting. We feel like we’re out in the country (as a girl who grew up that way) and yet, we’re perfectly situated off of Rt. 40. We have Howard County Schools… which are some of the best in Maryland! Hollifield Station Elementary has been fantastic and our son loves it. We have teachers in the neighborhood who teach at the high school and we are confident that our children will be well prepared for their future. The Miller Branch Library isn’t far and its brand new and amazing. Really a beautifully done library. The ability to run to Target, Walmart, the mall or so many small town shops is fantastic. We love The Wine Bin, Su Casa and Sweet Elizabeth Jane in Old Ellicott City as well as many other charming shops in both Ellicott City and Catonsville.
