When
we found our home at 2331 Cambridge Walk, the two car garage (especially given
how tight parking gets around here), the position of it facing a quiet street
in the middle of the city, and the outstanding walkable neighborhood really
caught our attention. The best part of the house location is that it’s within
comfortable walking distance of four distinct Baltimore features: Patterson
Park, the Waterfront Promenade, Fells Point, and O’Donnell Square. So there’s
urban park, city, water, restaurants, bakeries, and bars at your fingertips depending
on your mood! Not to mention the grocery store ten minutes away on foot,
shopping center and I-95 access five minutes away by car. Then, there’s the
unbeatable water and skyline sunset views from the roof deck. The house is on a
quiet street yet also in a prime location both to reach the best parts of
Baltimore, and to easily hop on to a major interstate to get to DC. We didn’t
realize how spoiled we were with the home’s outstanding connectivity until our
job relocation got us searching houses in another city! A new roof was installed in 2024. A new central HVAC air handler
and furnace was installed in 2024. A new central air conditioning compressor
and coil was installed in 2020. The upper and lower balcony were resurfaced in
2021. A new mini split air conditioner was installed on the top floor in 2019. Very
friendly neighbors that look out for each other’s houses. The Cambridge Walk
Community Association, run by the residents on the street, will put on annual
gatherings such as a Halloween event for the young children on the block, a
chili cook off, and block party. Some
of the things we love living in Baltimore include the fantastic variety of
small businesses, great water views, easy access to DC (via the MARC train in
addition to car) and Philadelphia (via Amtrak), and the Baltimore Kinetic
Sculpture Race. My favorite
restaurants to walk to around this home are Mayuree Thai Tavern, Verde, Thames
Street Oyster House, and Pho Bac. We moved to Baltimore because of our work at
major hospitals and research centers in the area. Canton has delivered more
than just proximity to our professional lives, it has also given us a fantastic
neighborhood feel despite being inside a dense city environment.
