Tucked away on a quiet cul-de-sac in the Westchester community, this mid century Colonial will not disappoint. 3 finished levels boasting 2 full bathrooms on the upper level, spacious living, a wonderfully modernized kitchen, finished basement and a fenced yard with a pleasant patio too. The list of upgrades throughout is long- 2011 –Put in laminate flooring in kitchen, dining room and hallway. -New roof (Architectural 30-year shingles) and gutters. -Upgraded the ceiling fan in Master Bedroom. – Installed new carpet and painted the whole house. 2012 – -Remodeled the 1/2 bath on main level. -Replaced the oven. 2013 – -Finished half of the basement. -Raised the window wells. -Installed drains in the back window wells. The side ones already had them. 2015 -Completely gutted and remodeled the kitchen and the upstairs hallway bathroom. 2016 – -Installed drain tile between the patio and neighbors’ fence to stop water from pooling when there was heavy rains. It now runs to the road. -Replaced the driveway, patio and front porch with new concrete. -Added piping for the sun pump to direct the water away from the house and out to the road. 2017 – -Installed laminate flooring in the family room. -Painted the family room and added new baseboards. -Remodeled the original half of the basement that had been finished previously for a “hang out” spot for the boys and their friends. -Added additional electricity to the basement. 2018- -Installed Ceiling fan with light in the back left bedroom. -Upgraded the ceiling light/fan in front right bedroom. -Installed new backyard fence. -Replaced dining room chandelier. -Replaced all outlets and switches on main level. 2019 – -Replaced the outside shed. -Installed drain tile attached to the front gutter to move water away from the house. -Replaced floor in main level bathroom to tile. -Replaced front porch lights. 2020- -Replaced all 3 ceiling hallway lights. -Installed new blinds on all windows. -Finished the other side of the basement, enclosing the furnace, washer and dryer and added additional closet. Turned it into a workout room. -Stained the fence. -Painted the outside of the house and shed. -Replaced both storm doors. -Installed fan in upstairs hallway bathroom. 2021 – -Installed drain tile through the middle of the back yard to stop water from pooling in the back yard and drain to the street. -Pulled up remaining carpet upstairs to expose the original hardwood flooring. 2022 – -Replaced master bathroom sink, toilet, lights, cabinet and medicine cabinet. -Painted master bathroom -Painted hallways

Here is what the Seller has to say:

What attracted me to my home is actually an ironic question because it was my last choice. It was still stuck in 1967. My Realtor, Ellie Mcintire, actually made me come see it and told me to look at what it can be. I am forever grateful for that because this is the first place besides the house I grew up in, that has felt like “Home” to me.   It’s been the perfect home for my boys and I for 12 years.  What we love about this home is the space that we all have. Plenty of room to be together for game nights, a back yard that has hosted evenings with friends by the fire along with endless shots of lacrosse and soccer balls into various goals.  Yet, we can all have time to ourselves as well. Watching TV in the family room, while one son is in the basement playing video games and the other in the weight room  I have completed many upgrades to this home with only a couple hints of 1967 still remaining, which for me gives me the nostalgic feeling of making this home mine and where I started.

The Westchester neighborhood has the best people in it.  The saying “It takes a village” could be our motto/theme. Carpools to sports practices for the local little league teams of all kinds. Meal trains when some of us “accident prone”, neighbors are going through any type of recovery. We watch out for each other and our families.

Being in a cul-de-sac the neighbors spend time outside with each other a lot. When it snows, we are out there with snow plows and shovels helping each other out. During COVID we still had an outdoor community

Things I love to do in my area is Frederick Road Fridays every Friday in the summer, the Annual 4th of July parade and fireworks, music festival and Lurman Theatre. Just behind my house is Patapsco State Park which has wonderful hiking trails that go down to the Patapsco River.   I just walk out my back door and just down the road.   The park is huge so you can also drive to other portions for additional hiking, but I love the area behind me. There is also the Trolley Trail. It’s a 4 mile walk from my front door, down to Old Ellicott and back. Even better when doing it with a neighbor and stopping for breakfast at the Trolley Stop or the cafe before coming back up.

There are adorable shops and restaurants in both downtown Catonsville and Ellicott City. Being right in the middle of both, you can enjoy it all within a few minutes’ drive.

My favorite restaurants :  GL Shacks, Catonsville Gourmet, Franco’s and Peace of Pizza.

I’m not a fan of grocery shopping, but love the ALDIs and Giant has a man that works there that can make the grumpiest person smile. He’s always happy. Greeting people or singing Holiday songs. Love him!!

In the summer I like to get my produce from the Farmers market every Sunday on Mellor Ave. ”  You should move here for all of the things I have listed above. I am going to miss this place so much, but as we advance in our lives, changes have to be made. This has been an amazing 12 years.     Other great things to mention would be the library, J.W Treuths Butcher, Banneker Museum, Food Truck Thursday’s and so much more I could list.
