WHAT THE SELLER LOVES

I was first attracted to my home at 8780 Sage Brush Way because it is an end unit; thus offering some windows on the side as well as in front and back. I loved the kitchen with its five-burner gas stove and tons of cabinet space as well as a pantry. The hardwood floors are lovely, as is the built-in bookcase in the loft. The finished basement is spacious and there is a large storage room with shelves. What drew me in the most was the sunroom – drenched in light from windows on three sides and sharing a gas fireplace with the living room.

I love many things about my home, but I especially love my sunroom. I've spent many happy hours there reading, doing crossword puzzles, and just relaxing. I also like to cook and have greatly enjoyed the kitchen.

UPDATES

New dishwasher 2019, new sump pump and battery-backup sump pump 2019, new water heater 2019 I use BGE for gas and electric. During the past year my average cold weather cost was $146 and warm weather month cost was $119. Water/sewer through Howard County costs $61 for a three month period.

GREAT NEIGHBORHOOD

My home is located in a 55+ community, which offers many amenities such as an outdoor pool and friendly clubhouse. I've enjoyed numerous social events there such as catered and potluck dinners and various musical events. There are always a lot of people walking and strolling around, both within the community and in the greater community nearby.

Some of the things I like to do in Columbia include walking on the many paths and trails, especially around the lakes. The Mall is a great place to shop and even just walk around. And Columbia offers several branches of the Howard County Public Library system.

My favorite restaurant in Columbia for special occasions is 18th and 21st, a speakeasy-style restaurant with live jazz music. I also love Tino's, an Italian restaurant nearby. For Indian fare: Royal Taj. And the Silver Diner at any time of day.

Wegmans is very close by – I shop there most frequently. There are also a Target nearby as well as several Giant supermarkets. I moved to Columbia because of its convenient location: it's near Baltimore and not too far from Washington DC, but has more of a smaller-town feel. Lots of shopping and different types of restaurants. In Columbia you can find pretty much anything you want without having to go far, everything from ethnic foods to furniture.
