When we found out home at 1316 Brook Rd the location being
zoned for Hillcrest, Catonsville Middle and Catonsville High was a huge element
for us. It was the perfect sized home for our family of three and we could see
where we could add and enhance our own personal touch to the space……which we
have done. The bedroom sizes are great and the HUGE basement has been used for
many things, but a cozy night in front of the fire with a good movie is definitely
our favorite. The kitchen is the perfect
size with plenty of counter space and we also love the additional living area
in the sun room. The covered patio in
the back is amazing for relaxing in the evening for at least 2/3rds of the year,
grilling out and even outdoor movie night. The sunroom bathes you in the warm
glow of the morning light. With all of the windows there’s not a bad seat but I
prefer sitting in the comfiest of chairs by the French doors drinking my
coffee, soaking in some vitamin D during cold winter mornings.

Our neighborhood is great for being able to walk to the tire
park, restaurants downtown, the 4th of July parade and fireworks, great to walk
or bike around. Catonsville has a small town feel with all the amenities of a
close major city and airport, it is safe, walkable, has an amazing 4th of July
parade and fireworks show just steps from our front door. It has great schools
that we have had a wonderful experience with, an amazing RECENTLY RENOVATED
local library, Patapsco State Park is also next door.
Places we love are Francos – great Italian, Scittinos – best
local pizza, Catonsville Gourmet – good for a nice date night out, Sam’s Bagels
– best bagels outside NYC, G.L. Shacks – Wings, crabcakes, crab soup, game
night
We moved to Baltimore County for the schools, close
proximity and an easy commute to Ft Meade, the music and the shows and city
life of Baltimore without living in the city. Catonsville is one of the best
kept secrets in the Metro Baltimore area.
