Looking for a vibrant community, but with privacy and nature in abundance? Welcome home to this desirable dwelling at the end of a Cul-de-Sac that is flanked on 2 sides by Howard County conservation area. Less than 15 years old, this delicious home is sure to delight the pickiest of buyers. The impressive 2 story light-filled foyer will greet you. A spacious “eat-in” kitchen with 2 yr old Stainless Steel appliances flows into the family room with a toasty gas fireplace. From this space you can enjoy the outside on the large maintenance free deck. Perfect for dining al-fresco. A delightful surprise will be the fruit bushes baring fruit in the near future. 4 bedrooms upstairs that include a generous Primary suite with 2 walk in closets and a tastefully renovated en suite bathroom. The basement adds to the living space with lots of finished space and a walkout exit that brings natural light into the area. The 2 car garage and the driveway are complimented by the additional parking pad on the side. Location, location, location. Situated in one of the finest Howard County school districts, there is even a quick walking path to the elementarty school. Surrounded by parks and greenspace such as the gorgeous hiking trails at the close by Patapsco Valley State Park.Several of which you can also explore by bike. The most famous one, the Cascade Falls trail that is walkable from the house. This trail leads you along several waterfalls ranging from several to ten feet in height with various pools of water around them. Rockburn Branch Park is so close too and great for easy biking, disc golf, kids playground that is NOT crowded, several tennis, basketball and other fields. Don't forget easy access to major commuter roads , local malls, convenient shopping and of course Old Town Ellicott City. It really does have it all.
Here is what the Sellers have to say:
When we saw our house for the first time we immediately knew we've found our home. Because…Location, location, location! Situated at the end of a quiet cul de sac, no traffic and very little noise, yet only minutes away from MD-100/I-95. Green areas all around! Walk to elementary and middle school in under 5 minutes!
What we love about our home is the impressive entrance hall, the open floor plan, the well sized bright rooms and the ample space in the finished basement that has a good amount of natural light coming in from the walk in glass doors.
We also enjoy the sunny maintenance free deck and the backyard (that borders forest conservation area, so lots of green) with kids play set and several low maintenance yummy fruit bushes.
Having an additional parking pad next to our driveway is convenient for guests.
Upgraded master bathroom ( everything, new shower, bathtub, vanity, tiles, painting), new flooring and painting in basement. New sump pump with battery backup installed 2018. Installed curtain rods and curtains in living room and all blinds in 2nd floor. Newly painted window sills throughout the house. Updated stainless steel appliances in kitchen (dishwasher, confection oven, microwave, fridge) 2 years ago. Updated washing machine 5 years ago. Brand new carpets in 1st floor and both staircases.
We consider ourselves lucky with our friendly and helpful neighbors with which we enjoy partying and doing our flower and vegetable beds together while having fun. The common green areas are wonderful for kids and dogs alike. There are kids of all ages in our street who enjoy playing outside with each other. No more planning for playdates necessary! The school playground is under 5 minutes walking distance away and offers several sport amenities.
At the end of the street are some friendly horses who enjoy getting petted and a carrot or apple. Ellicott city has such a lovely historic main street with all kinds of little unique stores lined up. Our favorite restaurant in the area is the Umi Sushi in the beautiful old Ellicott City main-street. It has a lovely outdoor seating and delicious and fancy looking party boats.
There are a lot of shopping places around! The closest grocery shop is a Giant at Marshalle dr. (there is a UPS store next to it) followed closely by Long Gate Shopping center (Safeway, Target, Michaels, Barnes and Nobles (with Starbucks), Kohls, Old Navy,..) and finally with 12 min drive a Costco, Lidl, Aldi, Lowes… Frank's Produce & Greenhouse is our favorite place to go for plants and fresh local produce. Within 5 minutes drive there are 2 Dunkin Donuts and for gourmet cupcakes the boutique bakery Kupcakes & Co with a rotating menu of fascinating cupcakes, plus custom cakes. Several Restaurants and pick up places at all those shopping places and already on the way to them give you a break from cooking for yourself.
We moved to Howard County because of the good public schools and convenient location regarding commuting to work. Several public libraries with a vast book collections and fun classes are nearby, as well as recreational centers for sports and swimming, like the no membership needed and very reasonable priced Roger Carter Center in Ellicott City as well.
Great public schools are very close, Ilchester Elementary and Bonnie Branch Middle School, both in under 5 minutes walking distance (bus service is available as well). Also two great private schools (Trinity and Our Lady of Perpetual Help) are only minutes away.
There are gorgeous hiking trails at the close by Patapsco Valley State Park.Several of which you can also explore by bike. The most famous one, the Cascade Falls trail we even started walking right from our house quite frequently. This trail leads you along several waterfalls ranging from several to ten feet in height with various pools of water around them.
Rockburn Branch Park is so close too and great for easy biking, disc golf, kids playground that is NOT crowded, several tennis, basketball and other fields.
