When we were looking for a home 15 years ago, we knew that we wanted something special. From the moment we walked into 30 North Prospect Avenue in Catonsville, Maryland, we knew that it was the right home for us. It has character, charm, warmth, and soul. It is the type of home with great vibes that everyone feels comfortable in, right away – so many people have mentioned that to us over the years! Many of the homes we had seen prior to this one, were stale, sterile, or colorless; this home had a real personality that we love!

We especially love the history of this beautiful town. We love leaving our mark in a place where so many have gone before us, and our home is a vital part of that history; it was built in 1926 and has been a retreat for many happy families during that time.

We love our warm living and dining rooms – they are ideal for movies, cocktails, or cozy dinners. We also love the brand new full bath upstairs – it feels like a spa in there, with its serene hues and genuine marble floor!

We have made many improvements to this sweet retreat over the years so that it can continue its cozy and comforting role for other families: a new roof, new kitchen and bathroom floors, renovated recreation room, new storage shelves in the basement and upstairs closets, new siding and door on the garage, new paint throughout, new windows on the first floor, new concrete driveway, newly landscaped front yard, fully renovated full bath, a new concrete driveway and front walkway, and a small deck with latticework out back.

Our neighbors have been friendly, warm, and helpful. We are thrilled to call most of them true friends. There are frequent porch and snow parties, and we have hosted several block parties as well. Pet sitters, babysitters, and dog walkers abound. The schools here have always gone above and beyond for our children – they have received strong educations and plenty of support socially, emotionally, and academically.

We Love Catonsville and this wonderful street! We live in the Paradise section of Catonsville; it is very aptly named. We have enjoyed so many sunrises from our front porch, and so many firepits with smores out back. The sounds of the 13 acres of protected woods behind us provided the perfect backdrop to a relaxing evening with friends. We have a little bit of everything here. Kora Lee’s, the best Thai restaurant in town and Mexican food too.

We have also enjoyed the 4th of July parades and fireworks- Catonsville is a local destination on that holiday. Some other local treats are the Thursday night food trucks within walking distance (6 minutes away), and the Farmer's Markets twice a week. There is always an amazing activity to attend. It’s known as Music City for a reason. Free music all weekend.

Shopping here is fun and easy! We have 818 Market within walking distance, and we also enjoy Sprouts, Giant, Trader Joe's, and Whole Foods. We LOVE eating out or grabbing cocktails in “The Ville”. We especially like El Guapo, Franco's, Catonsville Gourmet, and 818 Market.

Our energy bills from BGE have always been affordable and manageable, even though we like being really warm in winter and staying super cool in the summer.

We adore this house and cherish our time here. It is so welcoming; it will feel like home to you as soon as you walk in the gorgeous front door!

Maryland offers state parks, the ocean, and many historic sites. It also has an exciting night life, and we are within walking distance of downtown Catonsville, with a quick Uber ride into Baltimore City.

Why are we leaving? We are most definitely not- We really LOVE Catonsville. Our growing family needs just a little more room so we will be just around the corner- We will probably catch up at a street party in the future.
