WHAT THE SELLERS LOVE

It has definite curb appeal—the lovely stone wall, the stone steps. It’s the quintessential Maryland/Baltimore cedar shingle house! And that sun room. I couldn’t wait to get in. Crafting in my sun room because it’s so full of light. Turning the living room into a library with all our books on and in the built-in shelves. Our ginormous master bedroom connected to a laundry/walk-in closet. I love how bright all the rooms are—so many windows.

UPDATES TO 7901 YORK ROAD

We painted the house blue-grey. Put carpet tiles on the stairs to help the dogs get up and down on the hardwood! We didn’t get to do what we really wanted—turn that massive gorgeous attic into a massive gorgeous living space.

Heating oil C. Hoffberger $250-300/mo, Electricity BGE $125, Water/sewage city of Baltimore $125

COMMUNITY AND AMENITIES

We walk down Hillside Ave to Towson High school and have access to the tennis courts, the soccer/lacrosse field, the baseball diamond, and a lovely little nature trail that winds alongside a little creek and comes out by the Wiltondale swim club and Greenwood Park. We have several families with dogs and kids and we all meet in the mornings and evenings taking the dogs for one last romp at the high school. We also have access to the lovely Towson University campus, including the hidden treasure, the Glen Arboretum. We walk to the Towson branch of the Baltimore County Public Library every week for books and fun events. In the summer, my son attended learning camps at the university and there are always programs—films, speakers, presentations—that we want to see. Within our neighborhood—officially the Aigburth Manor Association (membership in no way required!)—we have two main events the winter social and the summer block party. We all know each other, our kids roam the neighborhood together, ride the bus together. They also arrange for Santa to visit each house via fire truck every Christmas. Towson proper has Friday Night Feet on the Street in the summer, the Gardens Day and Springtime Festival, 4th of July parade, the shopping, the restaurants, etc. We also love being able to pop into Baltimore in just a few minutes. We memorized the Walters and climbed every tower there is! Bill Bateman’s is just across the street for a quick bite. We walk to Villagio Cafe for kebabs in Anneslie. They have sidewalk seating! We also walk to Starbucks on spring and summer mornings for coffee. There is a Giant in the Anneslie shopping center. We moved to Towson to have all the advantages of city life. The schools—West Towson Elementary, Dumbarton, Towson High—all have an excellent reputation.
