When I found my home at 9062 Early April Way, I fell in love with the neighborhood and the woods right behind the house.  The townhouse is convenient to major highways, but feels secluded.   

The Little Patuxent river is a short walk down the path through the wooded open space.   

We love sitting on the deck when the weather is nice and seeing  birds, squirrels, and even deer.  It’s quiet and peaceful.  The kitchen in the front of the house gets bright sunlight in the morning and is a great place to start the day.  There’s plenty of natural light throughout the house.  I enjoy the garden in the front yard, where I have planted forsythia, crepe myrtle and daylilies.

Installed oak cabinets in the kitchen and powder room along with engineered stone  

Replaced roof in 1993, replaced heating system in 2003.

Some of the things I love about Columbia are the open space and pathway system, the recreation facilities, shopping at Columbia mall, and walking around Lake Elkhorn. 

Some of my favorite restaurants are Corner Stable, Grotto Pizza, Mimi’s, the Ale House, Iron Bridge, Petit Louis Bistro and The Turn House at Hobbits Glen.  The grocery stores I use are Giant Food in Owen Brown and Wegman’s. 

I moved to Columbia because it is convenient to both Washington and Baltimore.  I love the choices for shopping, the library system, the great CA facilities–especially the pools, the farmers’ markets in the summer.    

In Columbia and Howard county there is a wonderful library system, lots casual and fine dining choices, plenty of shopping.  The Columbia Festival of the Arts offers music, dance and other types of performances that I enjoy.  Merriweather Post provides other opportunities for musical performances.   The lakefest in the summer, fireworks, summer concerts in the parks and village centers are all available in Columbia and Howard County.
