240 Medwick Garth East Feast your eyes on this updated and perfectly maintained 3 bedroom townhome in the Baltimore County School District. Everything has already been done to make this home move in ready including gorgeous mature gardens in the back yard for you to enjoy right away!

The remodeled open kitchen with island and incredible storage is a pleasure to cook in and views to the yard are the icing on the cake. Step out the kitchen door to your covered patio to grill, entertain and enjoy your expansive fenced in yard with mature gardens. The house has central AC for those hot Maryland summers as well!

Main level hardwood floors have been refinished and create the perfect setting for your living area. The wall to wall carpet in all 3 bedrooms provides for a comfortable bed time and the full bath is large and updated. On the lower level, the finished basement includes a convenient 1/2 bath, a HUGE separate storage area with work bench and access to the back yard.

You will use the large fenced in back yard with perennial gardens and parking pad every day!

WHAT THE HOMEOWNERS LOVE When we found our home at 240 Medwick Garth East we loved it instantly. You wouldn’t be able to picture it now, but when we first walked in and saw its uniquely outdated decor, it was still clear that it was a house that a family had loved very much. It was well cared for and felt like home; we couldn’t wait to fill it with our own updates and family. We love that this is a traditional Catonsville townhome, but our remodeled kitchen makes it anything but typical. Replacing the wall between the dining room and kitchen with a large island opened up the entire main floor, making it very easy to cook and entertain at the same time. The extra-tall cabinets give us room for everything we need, there is more than enough counter space, and the whole things flows very nicely out to the backyard for those beautiful nights when you’d rather grill and eat outside.

There is a ton of storage throughout the house, from built-ins in the basement to an enormous sprawl of space in the easily accessible attic. The flat, lush backyard is beautiful in summer, when the roses, phlox, and honeysuckle are in bloom and hummingbirds and butterflies are everywhere. As fall approaches, the raspberry bushes produce many, many quarts of delicious berries. It’s been a pleasure to watch the family run around back there, building snowmen, playing soccer or tee-ball, and picking flowers and vegetables as the seasons change.

UPDATES TO OUR HOME

Kitchen completely remodeled

New roof with ridge vent in 2016

New hot water heater in 2014

Brand new HVAC system installed

New ceiling fans installed in the dining room and all three bedrooms

Main-level hardwood floors re-finished and stained Wall-to-wall carpet installed in all three bedrooms

New front and rear gutters

New Rubbermaid shed installed by the off street parking pad We’ve been pleasantly surprised by our monthly utilities in this house.

Our BGE gas and electric bill is about $150 a month, and in the summer it’s even lower because we get a credit from them for participating in their PeakRewards program. Our Baltimore water and sewer charges are also less than we expected, being about $175 every three months.

GREAT NEIGHBORS

Medwick Garth is an outstanding neighborhood with a caring community. We have biannual meetings with representatives from the city and county to keep us in the loop with what’s going on in our community, from new school construction to the ins and outs of local politics. We also have an active neighborhood association that holds events like yard sales, spring and fall clean-ups, a National Night Out cookout in August, and kids’ events like the Halloween parade and Easter egg hunt. We’ve even had Santa ride through the neighborhood on a fire truck, stopping to talk with all the neighborhood kids about their Christmas lists!

Just steps beyond the Medwick Garth loop, the community of Paradise is really becoming something special! There are great businesses and restaurants (including the new and improved Paradise Café), a magnificent cupcake bakery (Whimsy Cakes), conveniences like a pharmacy and animal hospital, and in the spring the neighborhood truly comes alive with Paradise Festivus, a family-friendly even with live music, food trucks, and more. Our house straddles the line between Baltimore City and Baltimore County, which gives us the best of both worlds! We’re minutes from the excitement of downtown Baltimore (with easy access to the Orioles at Camden Yards, the National Aquarium, and amazing museums), but enjoy the small-town feel of living in Catonsville.

LIFE IS GREAT IN 21228 Perhaps the best way to experience the feel of life in Catonsville is on the 4th of July. From the time the chairs start to line Frederick Road in late June to the last firework over Catonsville High, the Fourth of July in Catonsville is a fun, patriotic celebration that sets the tone for the rest for the summer, including Frederick Road Fridays and the Lurman Woodland Theater events.
