When we first saw our home at 6105 Adcock Lane we liked the fact that it was located in a cul-de-sac with mature trees on one side giving us some privacy in the backyard. Another draw to this property was being in a Howard County School District.
We enjoy sitting on the screened in porch for morning coffee. We love having pool parties in the summer and relaxing on the deck. We do family dinners every Sunday in our bright dining room with wide south facing windows and have plenty of room for the grandchildren to play in the large family room, while the older ones enjoy hanging out in the finished basement. The home office, just inside near the kitchen, has served us and our small business extremely well.
Here are some updates that we have done to the house.
We added the spacious screened porch complete with a wet bar just off the family room. This is great space for entertaining or just relaxing after a long day.
We added a large closet/pantry off the kitchen.
We finished the basement to make a cozy family room, half bath, and extensive built in shelves for storage.
We added an additional hall closet on the second floor.
We also floored the attic, so there is a ton of storage there.
Our utility bills are very reasonable. Our neighborhood is great for families. We have several events throughout the year for families such as an Easter Egg Hunt and Summer Picnic in our community park, which is beautiful just to walk through or sit on a bench and relax. We love the small town atmosphere here. The monthly pancake breakfast at the local fire hall just up the street. There is a Halloween parade at the local shopping center. Also the library is very close.
Hanover is located so close to Catonsville, Ellicott City and Columbia so there are so many great restaurants within a few minutes of our home. We grocery shop at Green Valley Market Place. This is a great place to shop as they also have delicious already prepared meals. The fried chicken is the best anywhere. We also like me to shop at the Giant at Lyndwood just off route 103.
Hanover in Howard County is a great place to live because of its proximity to all major highways, the Marc train and BWI, thus making travel easy. Having all of this, we still have a small town atmosphere. Howard County schools are some of the best in the Country, which is why we wanted to move here.
