HERE IS WHAT THE SELLERS HAVE TO SAY ABOUT THEIR WONDERFUL HOME!
When we found our home at 9349 Town Place Drive, we fell in love with the location before even setting foot inside the house! The convenience to the schools, pool, and shopping center was a major draw for us. When we went inside, we loved the open floor plan and abundant space as well as the abundant natural light streaming in on every level. We also loved that the home was already upgraded and modern without any work needing to be done!
One of our favorite things about our home is curling up on the couch in our spacious living room and watching movies with dinner, sunlight streaming in every morning in our dining room, spending time on the deck on beautiful sunny days, relaxing in the tub in our large master bathroom, and hosting parties on our open-concept main level.
Some features that we have updated
We installed beautiful new hardwood floors on both staircases and the upper level hallway.
We put in a new deck with durable composite wood and a design that maximizes views & privacy.
We installed new carpeting on the upper and lower levels.
We upgraded the original range to a brand-new Maytag 7662 gas range with a ‘Precision Cooking System’ and stellar reviews
· We completely redesigned the front yard landscaping with all shade-tolerant, hearty plants, and a beautiful stone path – originally the property had only grass that was in poor shape!
We upgraded all toilets throughout the house to top-of-the-line models Gerber Avalanche (originally, they were “”builder grade”.
We upgraded all faucets and sink fixtures to beautiful modern one
We switched many bulbs throughout the house to highly-efficient LED bulbs, and also installed new light fixtures throughout like recessed lighting and countertop lighting in the kitchen.
Our utility costs were very inexpensive given the size of the house, and considering that we worked from home with lots of computer equipment on all day! Using BGE for electric & gas, we usually averaged about $150 per month in the summer and about $200 in the winter. This is for both electric and heat. Our water bills through Baltimore County were negligible, only about $10 a month.
In Five Oaks / Newtown, our neighborhood is great for walking with each other, pets, or kids! We made a habit of walking a few miles each day all around our neighborhood, for example around the beautiful Central Park area. Everyone around is very friendly and we enjoyed getting to know people in the area on our walks. Some of the things we love about living in Owings Mills are the friendly community, the abundant and convenient options for shopping & dining, how nicely-kept the entire town is from landscaping and planting to roads and storefronts, and also, the easy access to highways.
Some of our favorite restaurants in the area are:
Tsam: great breakfast food across the street
Artful Gourmet: upscale American & Italian cuisine within 1 mile
Mezcal: one of the best Mexican restaurants we’ve ever been to
Ledo Pizza: also across the street, great for a quick bite
USpoon: our all-time favorite frozen yogurt place!
The grocery store we use most is Giant, which is just a 1 minute walk from our front door and open until MIDNIGHT! There were so many times where we needed just one or two things from the store, and we loved being able to get whatever we needed without driving.
We moved to Baltimore County because we wanted to be closer to our friends in DC, Baltimore, and Northern Virginia, and because we wanted convenient access to downtown Baltimore. It only takes about 25 minutes from our house to the Inner Harbor which is really nice, and getting to Southern Maryland and DC is very straightforward as well. In Owings Mills, Newtown Elementary School (less than a half mile from our house) is a fantastic school scoring an 8 on GreatSchools.org. There are also lots of shopping and dining options within just one or two miles, from big box retailers like Best Buy, Wal-Mart and Home Depot to small family-owned businesses. It’s incredibly convenient, and it always seems like there are more shops & restaurants popping up!
